BARRE is the HOTTEST workout to date. U Barre is a method designed to improve flexibility, build strength, and develop control and endurance in the entire body. The U Barre method is about improving alignment, breathing, developing a strong core, improving coordination and balance, and sculpting a feminine and elegant leaner body.
The U Barre method was founded by Gloria Quiming. A U Barre classic barre class is about 55 minutes. A class consists of a warm up, where we combine spinal mobility work with coordination exercises to fully activate a mindful movement connection during your entire workout. Our arm weighted series sculpts the arms and promotes full and functional range of motion in the shoulders and scapulae region. We then progress to the barre work which is based on classic barre warm-up work and sequencing. The sculpted and toned results comes from deep recruitment of all the muscles around the pelvis (think high seat and thighs). We include a mat series where we do deep abdominal work in seated flexion and finish with a cool down that allows the body to recover. Our classes our intimate and allow for close attention and personal correction. U Barre classes are unique and unlike any other method.
Why should I implement this type of workout into my routine?
During class, every movement you do is performed mindfully and purposefully to facilitate healthy body mechanics and postural corrections. This practice carries over to every other movement method you participate in and encourages all movement (walking, running, dancing, or just standing) to be corrective and rejuvenating.
How do I sign up, and what is the cost?
A single class can be purchased online. Please visit our schedule page to get to our menu of services. Our Sacramento prices are different than our Newport Beach prices, so please call if you need more information. Everything can be easily accessed & booked online through our Mind Body pages. To reserve your class today create an online profile and follow the easy steps to save a spot in class. We must save a payment method to your account in the case of no shows or late cancellations. You will be prompted through our scheduling system to save billing info. We only charge if our policy is not honored.
What do I bring to class?
You don’t need much for a U Barre class—just wear comfortable workout clothing that’s not too restricting or baggy. As for footwear, you may be barefoot or wear grip socks—whatever you prefer! Please bring water and a towel.
What do I need to do before my first class?
Please arrive a few minutes early to meet the instructor and to ask any questions you may have.
What if I have injuries?
Be sure to tell the instructor if you have any injuries that may hinder your movements or cause you pain. We can offer you modifications whenever possible. Of course, always ask your doctor before starting any new type of workout. Sales are final and cannot be refunded or transferred to other members.
Do you have parking?
Yes! Sacramento U Barre has a private parking lot directly in front as well as free street parking along 56th Street. Please do not park in the resteraunt lot to the left if you are looking at our building. You might get towed.
Newport Beach U Barre has plenty of parking and an additional metered parking lot - Easy to park anytime of day
What is your cancellation policy?
When you reserve your space in the studio keep in mind that you have now eliminated a place on the schedule and classes fill up fast. We know life happens and things come up, but please cancel three hours prior to your class time. To cancel you must log into the profile you created and remove yourself from the class list. That way space opens up through our system.
